Mouse Costume

My sister is dressing up as a chocolate chip cookie, her friend as milk and they have decided to dress up my dog as a mouse. They're entering a pet costume contest judged on creativity, attention to detail, and how well the costume fits the pet's personality. They're going off of that book, If You Give a Mouse a Cookie. Can you offer any suggestions for the dog's costume?
I have a ten pound Chihuahua.

I didnt see a mouse - but there are some adorable dog costumes here. There is a hot dog dog costume there that would at least fit with the food theme!

So you are a new parent? What is more exciting than bringing in a new life into the world? You get to shape the kid’s mind. Watch with pride as your youngster grows as he or she learns something new.

One thing that having a child does is give you and your spouse a chance to be a kid again. This is especially true at Halloween. When you are getting your baby ready in a Halloween costume, you can be doing the same.

There are three basic rules of Halloween and babies. These are:

- It best to go with a group of people who have kids a little older than your own. Otherwise, it is noticeable you are playing dress up and only getting candy for yourself. You shouldn’t worry so much about this. Sweets givers will be distracted by your baby’s outfit rather than giving out candy to someone they know will be eating it.

- Be cautious of the kind of costume material you buy. Most store bought costumes are made of highly flammable material, which is not very breathable for a baby’s skin.

- Be sure the costume you get is weather permitted. You do not want to get one that is either too hot or too cold for your baby. Remember to bring a hat if it is needed or mittens as well. You don’t want your baby to be uncomfortable.

If you are worried about irritating your baby’s skin, use your baby’s regular clothing as a base to keep the other material off their skin. For example, to get a cute mouse outfit, use your baby’s headband and add some ears and paint some whiskers to a fuzzy grey sleeper set. The same idea works for the wintertime too. If your baby has a black coverall suit, it would make an adorable seal.

If during Halloween you have warmer weather, avoid face paints that are liable to melt. Even animal type costumes need to be avoided since it covers the most of the body. Should you want to do an animal costume, using a onesie suit or a thin romper with sleeves and legs works. Bring a blanket with you because once the sun goes down it is likely it will get cooler. The temperature during October can be a little tricky for many areas around the globe.

No matter what when parents have kids, they are thrown into two areas of life. The first thing is real adulthood with major responsibilities and second is another childhood. When you are child is getting dressed up for Halloween, you can do the same. No one thinks anything of it. The both of you can dress up together with the same kind of outfits. Some ideas include:

- A bumblebee baby and mother or father flower;
- A baby tinkerbell and a daddy Peter Pan
- Mom, dad and baby dress up as Russian dolls
- Mom, dad and baby dress up as The Three Musketeers

Let your imagination go wild and dress up with your child. Maybe your baby would make a great purse. There are just so many ideas you can come up with so you and your baby can join in on the fun.

I really want to be Minnie Mouse this year for Halloween but when i look it up on the web all i find are slutty ones with minnie minnie skirts?? I'm 14. Can you refer me to a costume web site that sells non slutty teen costumes?

Ok so I looked at some Minnie Mouse costumes & you're completely right, all of them are super short! My suggestion is to buy Minnie Mouse ears (link below) and then get a cute, longer, red & white polka dot dress.

P.S- I put a link to a cute pink & white polka dot dress from Forever21 but if you search dot on the website it will come up with lots of polka dotted dresses and shirts!

I'm being a mouse, and I already have ears, tail etc, but should I wear a black dress or what?

Both are just ears & a tail. & whiskers
how can you tell if im a mouse or a cat??
sure i can wear black for a cat
& grey for a mouse.
but people might think im a grey cat or a black mouse. =/

any suggestions?

Color and shape of ears, length of tail. Also the way you carry your arms and hands. For mouse they should be closer to your body and chest, hands curled.
Might try buying a fake mouse nose too.

My son loves Mickey Mouse, I want my brother to wear a Mickey Mouse Costume on his birthday. FYI I live in Houston, Tx.

You can try contacting your local costume rental shops, but more than likely they will not carry any sort of mouse that resembles the Disney icon. Disney is very protective of their copyright and has sued many a costume shop or birthday party clown for copyright infringement if they sell, rent, wear, and or make a profit from wearing a costume similar to a Disney character.

I have seen foreign-made costumes on Ebay for reasonable amounts. Same copyright infringement rules apply, but Disney never seems to be able to shut them down.

I am in high school and our homecoming week is coming up in in the next few months. In this week we have a day with a disney character theme. I really need want to be minnie mouse, so I searched many websites and all I could find was sexy costumes or girls costumes. Can somebody please help me find one.
